2.0 TDI FR Low Mpg & Smoking More Often.

I have noticed lately I get far less mpg from a full tank than I use too.

I am lucky now to get 380 miles from a full tank.

I use to get nearly 500 so that's quite a difference.

My driving style & journey has not changed.

Also I have noticed at 1.250 revs loads of smoke comes out the exhaust for a good 30secs to 1 minute then stops.

Also noticed when I put foot down I can see the smoke from my exhaust now more often. I never use to see this.

Also my revs keep going to 1000 which seems like it's doing a regen but after I get all the smoke out it goes back to normal idle.

Oh it also came on my dashboard twice in about one year enginge management fault take to workshop.

But after I take key out and back in start car the message goes & not appears again?

Is it a sensor of some kind faulty?

Had DPF cleaned summer 2014 mpg went low after this!

Car smoke problem since last service in June 2015.

Any ideas I can tell my local garage?

I don't know what to say to them lol.

I know a diesel smokes but never been noticeable before.

Has it been scanned for faults??

Could be your lambda sensor. I had similar symptoms with the smoke and lack of power with poor mpg.
Maybe replace this and clear the fault code?

I will have get it checked as the fumes can smell in car.

Might be this that giving me headaches etc.

I pad £120 for a Bosch lambda sensor from lambda power in Liverpool and they delivered it Next day
£25 labour to fit and re scan where the fault disappeared.
I have cr170 so only one lambda was required for my tdi fr.
