Hello everyone

i'm new to the forum and as far as i see people here really know what they r talking about

i own a Golf v 2.0 tdi 140 hp 4motion and i wanted some ideas to increase the power, i have a remap but it's not enough

i really need your help becouse i live in Romania and here people are more into sti's, evo's and 1.8T so tuning diesel's is not very common

thanks a lot

cheers

The standard intercooler is plenty big enough for 220-230 bhp. All you need to change is the airfilter, exhaust, downpipe and turbo plus of coarse get a remap. You will probably also need an uprated clutch at some stage. It all comes down to how much money you can or want to spend at the end of the day.

thx for the reply

i don't want more than 220-230 hp becouse i want tha car to be reliable, it's my daily drive and the only car i have

Did you use BMC-CDA airfilter? this is really that good?

Yeah, I'm sure Mike'd recommend it as highly as I do - same as used by Allard on their race cars - the sound is fappin' awesome!

Yep the BMC airfilter is the best money can buy. My Audi is my daily drive as well same as my Cupra was before. The 2.0 pd engine can cope with 250-260 bhp no problems if you fit a VT5 and as you have a 4motion do not need to worry about traction problems.

i think enclosed filters are the best, anything which is open to hot air is pointless on force induction cars

There is little point in going for a VT3 - you will get almost identical power outputs to a VT2, but as you correctly state, you'll have to buy a new exhaust manifold. From memory they're around £300+fitting...

That would be my recommendation - I won't be wanting anymore power out of mine for sometime yet, and I drive 60 miles a day minimum with no issues so far...
