Hi All,

just new to the forum. Sold my e46 m3 4 months ago and decided to take my time when coming to buy a new car. Test drove quite a number of cars, from s3's, s4's, type r's, scoobies/ evo's, TT's and LCR's, i felt that the LCR was the most practical/nicest looking and not shy on power too.

My mate owned one and recently sold his due to personal reasons - a member on this forum (R4MSN). He had convinced me to buy a LCR, " you wont regret it - he said " and to be honest he was quite right.

After searching long and hard i finally came across one ( and he was 10 mins up the road from me - how lucky lol)

2002 LCR in Black
63k miles with full service history inc recent timing belt, water pump etc change
Recent Full service
Full Years MOT and Tax until June 11
2 Former Keepers

Bodywork is in v good condition for its age, a few chips on the bonnet but nothing major, i was surprised at how clean an example it was.

There are a few mods to it aswell:

Rear Tinted windows
Bee sting aerial
K & N induction kit
CCFL angel eye kit
6K HID KIT
RE MAPPED TO 263 (with print out)
Recently refurbed wheels

Bad Points ( every car has them )

3 button remote doesnt work - possibly needs re programmed
upper speaker cover on passenger side missing
Tracking to be done as new track rod ends were put on

Thats it lol

I am planning to keep it for a while and have read many readers rides - alot of interesting projects going on.

I would appreciate all the help from memebers and any opinions too.

Will post up pics once iv givin it a good clean.

Future plans:

lowered on Weitec or Spax springs - either 50/40 or 45 all around respectively - opinions?
Down pipe
Miltek/Scorpion exhaust - opinions?
De badged
S badges - wrapped in carbon fibre/matt black effect
Wheels re painted in anthracite - possibly darker?
Aero flat wipers
New splitter
Seat Sat Nav Unit/ Alpine
New car Cupra r Mats
Arm rest - assuming i'd have to get this from a Golf?
Front tints
Is there any point of Silcone piping?

Im not going to be using the car for any track days - just every day use. I am more than happy with the power it has to offer, i personally feel that pushing for more bhp is pointless for a fwd car and espcially in Scotland where all you get is rain, you would rarely get all that power down. So subtle mods for me :)

Pics to follow .....

Not even close.

The M3 has stacks more power, and the sound of the straight 6 is quite something. Totally different league.

My friend owns a estoril blue e46 m3 convertible, we raced "ehemm" on a private airfield of course ;) and my stage 2+ Lcr just had the edge, and he admitted he was giving his m3 the beans. i used to own a mk4 r32 and 6 cylinder power is a different league but when an m3 gets dicked by a 1.8t you have to laugh :).. http://www.seatcupra.net/forums/showthread.php?p=3190061

yeah i had the same experience with my uncles m3. a 3rd gear pull saw my boost spike pushing me ahead and keeping the lead all the way through to the end of the...runway.

but driving-wise, i guess it is a different experience altogether.

New parts bought

Just bought myself the following but have been told that they could take between 5 to 7 weeks or even expect after the new year .... gutted :( ... hopefully it will be a well worth wait:

blue flame cat back exhaust inc downpipe and de cat
Weitec springs 50/40mm drop

Also went on eBay and bought some carbon fibre vinyl for the S badges and the chrome ring around the front grill.

A skoda fabia rear wiper conversion kit

Cupra r mats from the "stealers" £25 - some guy on eBay selling them for £50

Look at possibly getting the wheels painted in gun metal or a set of bbs ch's in a gun metal colour....

And adding a slight black tint to the rear lights

Found a set of DRL lights ( same as the a5) however they were for LHD cars only - :(

Can anyone tell me where i can get uprated dog bone mounts from please?
