Hi All,

I need to replace the sump on my 04 Alhambra 1.9TDI AUY (115hp) engine as a previous grease monkey has cross threaded the sump with a power tool by the looks of it as the sump plug turns but doesnt come out :censored:

Seat want just short of £130 for a new sump and they wont give me the part number for it. Having looked on eBay there are several new sumps for sale from £30+ that list the 04 1.9 diesel engine under their compatibility lists.

However, the eBay items list the part number as 038103603N which I believe to be the part number for the petrol engine. Having looked at http://www.vagcat.com/epc/cat/se/AL/2004/407/49/4792740/ (part 20A) it would appear the diesel engine part number is 038103603C.

On another thread somewhere on the Internet (I cant remember where now) a poster said they had dropped the N/C letter variants and the part number was now just 038103603. If this is true then this would seem the indicate that both the N and C variants listed on VagCat are the same sump.

What are your thoughts?

Thanks Wimbledonian, that's a shame as it appears no-one bar Seat dealers do the C variant in the UK.

Guess I'll give the scrapyards a go

Cheers
