2005 crank sensor on 1.9tdi engine

Hi all

I had a code come up.relating to the crank sensor so i wanted to replace it. I think its located behind the oil filter housing at the bottom and then the lead with the plug runs up to the top. If this is the correct sensor, do i have to remove the oil filter housing or can it be done without doing that?

It’s at the bottom of the engine block next to the gearbox just above the sump and unplugs at the side off the oil filter housing
