2009 fr tdi lift pump

Hi all does the lift pump in boot run all the time and any reason why I’m not getting a feed on my multimeter at all for the pump.

The pump in the boot of a 2.0t fsi primes the rail for start up when you turn the key on to acc it’ll arm the pump for 5secs then the engine will fire up and the mechanical high pressure fuel pump run off the cam lob takes over.

I know this as I literally drained my 99ron out of my 2.0tfsi Leon mk2 today abs the engine isn’t running.
