Hi
We've got a Bocanegra on a 60 plate 46,000 miles, over the last 4 1/2years had various issues. Oil consumption test in 2013 showed it was below level SEAT would replace engine. In 2014 supercharger replaced & last 2 weeks its been sat in the garage after having compression tests & engine stripped. Compression tests show cylinder 2 had 0 compression and garage advised new engine. Garage approached SEAT warranty and requested the engine be stripped at our cost. Results came back and cylinder 2 had failed and scored the bore, one side of the piston has worn/broken up, cannot confirm exactly what caused failure but suspect piston ring failure. SEAT warranty said can't help as outside of warranty, SEAT Customer Services willing to cont 30% goodwill so we're left with approx £4k bill for new engine. We really don't see how SEAT can expect us to foot the bill, more so because we're struggling to understand why!

Has anyone had experience of getting further with SEAT for similar problems? Or are we just going to have to suck it up and pay the bill?

Old-ish post I know..however I also have a '60 plate Boc that is sat in the garage having its THIRD engine in after 47k miles. Went absolutely ape **** at SEAT and initially they wanted to only offer 30% as in your case but managed to get it to 60% ..leaving me with a bill of £1350 +VAT for a brand new engine.

I'm assuming you'll have already had all your work done and paid etc. but see if there's anything you can do by speaking to SEAT UK
