Yeah it seems good value, but an Audi A1 with the same engine (albeit in a lower state of tune and with a little less equipment) can be had for £13,420 so I think SEAT could have priced it even lower or bumped up the equipment.
The new FR has less fitted than the old Sportirder had. Looks smarter though
As said looks cheap until you factor in the kit. SEAT do seem to be counting the pennies more and more. If I look back to my brand new Leon Cupra with Climate, Multi CD, full electric windows and the 1.8T 180 lump. In 2003 I paid 14,000 for it or £14999 full up, even taking into account inflation the move to greater profitably per unit seems to be a major factor.
Possibly internal pressure from VAG means they are not quite the well speced good value cars they were. Residual values also seem to be not quite as good as they were either with the move to a more mass market brand and as sales go up. Skoda is now better value and have better deals on their cars overall, it has to be said the product on the whole is better as well.
I've just done a price comparison with my pre facelift 1.6 TDI Sportrider SC against the 2012.5 model 1.6TDI FR SC which looks the closest comparison

Nice find looks genuine to me. And yeah makes sense with Beijing as SEAT have recently started selling in the Chinese market.

I can't see the cupra is a mass market in china, not with that number of cars - they sold over 1200 cupra/cupra bocanegra last time I checked in the uk.
I would suspect its halo effect only, and they'll have low end models, as the cupra will be too dear

Very strange that these interior changes such as the relocation of the hazard lights switch are on the Cupra but not the rest of the range. Doens't look like the heated rear windscreen button made the move though.
Don't like the blueish backlighting - looks a bit Korean! Prefered the red/white, like the stitching on the steering wheel though
Just seen the picture, looks good, finally an improvement inside!!
Audio system looks pretty similar to that in the Up, Mii and CitiGo.

Interior looks nice in the Cupra and first pictures of how the new media system will be integrated. Changde the colour of the display on the climate as well to fit in with the media system. I suppose moving the hazard switches was done to fill the void as it is allot smaller looks like an RCD210 variant with slightly different front? Same unit as fitted to the Mii, UP ect.
As for the front bumber looks like what they did with the Len FR/Cupra ie add a black section round the number plate and a few vent holes and be done with it
