2013 1.4 tsi manual clutch and flywheel

Hello,

I have a 2013 1.4 tsi manual and I'm currently getting abit of a slip/grid when setting off and a rattle at idle. I've been told it could be gearbox related and may need a new gearbox and clutch and flywheel? I don't have any issues shifting gears so surely the gearbox is fine? Has anyone got a rough price for how much the clutch and flywheel replacement costs at a VW specialist? or a price for a gearbox recon?

Not rushing into making a decision as i don't want to pay for expensive work that might not need to be done.

Thanks in advance!

Could be the dual mass flywheel, these sometimes rattle also When you put the clutch down does it stop , if so could be clutch release bearing rattling.

When I put the clutch down the rattle gets significantly quieter yeah.
Also when I put the air con on that makes the rattle louder.
Does the 1.4 tsi have a dual mass flywheel do you know? I thought it was onl;y the diesels and the cupras?

I have the same model and was told they do have a dual mass flywheel by a specialist vw/seat garage. When u put the aircon on does it rattle when you hold the clutch pedal down. Anyway I was quoted £1,200 for a full clutch kit and flywheel Really eye watering prices. I would get a second opinion from a vw/seat specialist as the dealers will rip u off. its very rare for these gearboxes to go as they are pretty strong .

yes it does still rattle with the clutch down whne the air con is on but only slightly, the air con works fine still though from what I can tell. Yeah I'm gonna get it booked in at a specialist to have it checked but the prices I've heard have been around that mark too which is eye watering hahah

Not ALL 1.4's have a dual mass, but some do.
Depends on PR codes.
OEM Dual mass flywheel alone is £600+ You can get an luk one for around £300.
