hi guys, got a worrying situation ... i had my leon standerd remapped from 150bhp to gain an increase of around 45bhp...

ever since the remap couple of weeks ago i have noticed a juddering when accelerating in higher gears below 2000 revs mostly 6th at 60 and i put my foot down a good amount and judders for a few seconds i let go and then accelerate more gently and it doesnt judder....

it does this in 5th about 50 occasionally again below 2000 revs.... but if i was to go for it in 1st and go up the gears ..no problem same for just accelerating in 2nd/3rd/4th... and if i drop a gear no problem...

cant for the life of me figure out what it is ... i have just had it serviced new oil filter.. from what i know so what could it be ...i hope im not needing a new drive shaft or flywheel....

im at 56k miles

thanks for any help

When I had my 2.0Tdi, I'd always drop a gear to accelerate. Trying to accelerate hard in high gears puts loads of strain on the clutch / flywheel. And with your added torque from the remap even more strain. I'd say at <2k revs the turbo likely hasn't even kicked in. So it's basically forcing the engine alone to lug and pick up the pace till the turbo kicks in. TBH, it sounds normal. Putting 300 odd lbs of torque through the clutch in 6th gear that's what I'd expect to happen. I found my FR+ happiest around 2.5k revs. Especially as the rev band on a diesel is so much narrower.

I had something similar on an Audi - it was the dual mass flywheel- it had cracked.

That said I agree with the last post entirely- drop 2 gears - turbo should spool up an shouldn’t judder
