Hi everyone sorry if this has been discussed before but I spoke to the seat dealer today and he said since last year vag group cars the service intervals have been changed from 5 years to 15 years or 150,000 miles. The last dealer I spoke to said every 5 years, so I don’t get it, the mileage also only 48,000 so it’s low for a 15 plate but I’m just confused.

Thanks for any help

my information on this:

Timing belt - engine control test mode

first at 240,000 km, then every 30,000 km

Timing belt for coolant pump test mode

first at 240,000 km, then every 30,000 km

I feel/think that there comes a time when you consider that even for these new (to us used to replacing every 4 or 5 years) to long life cambelts, that why not play safe and replace it.

My wife's August 2015 VW Polo 1.2TSI - so same EA211 family of engines as this car, will have run 55,000 miles by the time it is 10 years old, so if I am sure that its belt can be replaced and that car returned to us with the same driveability, I wouldn't mind getting that job done to it. I don't want to end up with the engine timing being slightly out and the car "dull" to drive though!

Edit:- I have been checking the condition of the belt at each service after the 3 year new car warranty ran out.
