Hey guys,

Previously, I did soundproofing for my other cars, and this time I did it for my IBIZA. Since the materials I used were relatively much cheaper, I did not expect a significant change, but I was still satisfied. First, I did the trunk area, then under the hood, and finally under the rear seat.

As the first layer, I used a material called Bituself, which reduces vibrations (resonances) on bare metal. Then, I completed the insulation in two layers by sticking closed-cell foam called Firex on top of it.

Under the hood, I applied this foam layer in 2-3 layers and additionally installed the OEM under-hood insulator on top.

Despite these non-professional materials, I noticed a significant change. For my other cars, I will use CTK or KILLMAT brands from now on, hoping they will be even better.

In the future, I will also do the trunk lid and above the wheels. There is a lot of tire noise coming from the front, and I believe that once I reduce that, it will provide a very high level of driving comfort. Even as it is now, I can say it has reached the level of a VW Passat.

Great job done , just shows the lack of insulation from factory .
i,ll be in the market for a Ibiza FR later this year , will be a lease vehicle so prob can’t touch it much but I’m sure a little insulation added would be acceptable.

it is still a successful vehicle compared to other vehicles in its segment, but it can be taken to another level with such small touches

I certainly will my friend. What sound proofing do you advise I get ? Thanks 👍🏻
I prefer CTK brand for price/performance point.
• CTK Standart Pro - for base layer
• CTK Silencefix or other sponge type - for second layer depending on the thickness
• for the third and last layer, you can find sound barrier type products like hard and heavy ones. ( only good for boot and hood )
• If you want one in all solution, CTK Sandwich and Multimat are good for ease of application
