I have finally had the front parking sensors and reversing camera fitted and they work great. The camera is far better than the camera on the 2019 Ibiza Xcelence Lux that I had before so very happy. The installer even added a sports dial for the digital instruments.

Hi IanH,
I have also ordered an Arona FR Sport 1.5 DSG which is due to be delivered any day now.
I currently drive a 2020 manual version of this car so it's not much of a change (just a better deal for a new car) apart from having to get used to the DSG gearbox which I've never had before.
This aside, I'd really like a reversing camera and front parking sensors fitted. Can I ask where you got them done and how much you paid?
Many thanks.

Hi PB18,

I paid £800 + vat for the front parking sensors and reversing camera. My dealer arranged for them to be fitted and the car’s system encoded to accept them. I have the installer’s number as he covers the whole of Kent and perhaps other areas. Where about in the country are you?

Thanks Ian, unfortunately I'm in Staffordshire so Kent is a bit of a jaunt. Thanks for giving me an idea of the cost though.

It's just occurred to me that we've spoken in another forum (my username is Bickers70).

Are you enjoying the new car and still getting on well with the DSG?

Literally just had a call from the dealer, I can collect the car tomorrow 👍

Hi Bickers70,

Yes I remember speaking. I like the DSG gearbox and I’m sure you will once you get used to it. 1st gear is very low so if I’m pulling away fast I find it best to use manual mode on the gearbox by pushing the gear lever to the left and changing up to second gear between 3-4000 rpm otherwise it will rev to 6500 rpm before changing. It feels like the power is reduced in 1st gear to help prevent wheel spin.
what colour did you go for? Enjoy collecting your new car tomorrow 👍

Hi,
I've gone for 'magnetic grey' with a 'midnight black' roof.

Nice, it’s the same colour as mine apart from I kept the roof the same colour as the rest of the car to match my Cupra Formentor.
Actually Ian, a quick question having just spoken to the dealer...

They've asked me to download the Seat Connect app before I collect. I said "is this the one where you get 12 months access but then have to pay after that?" He said he didn't think so but he really didn't sound sure (which isn't great) I also asked if Seat Connect was needed to get Sat Nav updates and he said no but again didn't sound sure...
Do you have any knowledge of Seat Connect and do you use it yourself?

I had Cupra connect for the first year with my Formentor but didn’t renew it as for £119 per year I felt it was a wait of money. The only thing I used it for was to see how many miles I had left and the mpg of each trip. The Seat connect is the same as in free for the first 12 months. You can see whether the car is locked etc.. but the system was to unreliable with software issues with the Formentor as it would change user profiles randomly and put the car in privacy mode so it would show the car being unlocked even though it was locked. I’m not sure about map updates as I use Goggle Maps all the time.
