Just been out for the first time to do a bit of mapping and first impressions are very very good.

There is hardly anymore lag than the previous turbo and it pulls like a train.

The problem is its boosting to 1.2 bar + by 4k but at 5k the boost has dropped off to 0.8 bar and does seem to rise any more.

What could cause this ?

what have you changed?
whats the actuator pressure?

Problem sloved I had made a school boy error and crossed the 2 pipes from the solenoid to the turbo and actuator.

I hope that will have fixed it. I will be out in the polo with a friend tonight to finish the mapping so will know for definate then.

Cheers

Been looking at my data I have logged and I was wondering what intake (manifold) temps you run (1.4 bar)

I mine are low 20s to mid 30s without the meth / water injection.

How do they compare to yours ?

mine were similar... but I dont remember ambients.. I think last logs I did was summer so 20'c ambients, and 30-35'C under boost on 1.6bar and mid 40-45'C on 2.2bar - no water/meth

just got back from mapping at 1.8 bar with 104 octane fuel and am very very happy with the result. It blew a turbo hose off but I think I have this sorted now.

intake temps were 32-37 deg c at 1.8 bar.

Looking forward to the weekend now to she how it performs at Yoek raceway. Praying for good weather

look out for a vinyl wrapped TT with a huge jbs sticker in the rear window! he's hoping for 11's now he's gone bigger turbo+nos.

not the best, sunday I was just making a few gentle runs to make sure everything was ok. When i was sure everything was running fine a turned the boost up and it blew a hole into the silicon hose off the turbo. Managed to make a temp fix on sunday night but monday brought another little problem. For some reason the crank sensor started to lose its signal at about 5.5-6k rpm so the carthe car would not rev past this point.

Some how I still managed to win my class with a 12.2 but was very dissapointed , with the crank sensor fault I had already lost .5 sec in the first 60ft.

I dont know it, kind of destroyed the inside of the hose and blew a hole in the outside. I am going to get it hard piped for the next meeting and just have silicon couplers.
