20vT Conversion - Help Identifying a wire - Please

Hi All,



I have installed a AYP 20vT engine and loom from a Seat Ibiza into my year 2000 caddy van, I have used the complete engine and loom to carry out the conversion.



It's very close to being complete, however working on the engine side of the loom last night I came across a single wire which I cannot work out where it's supposed to go, or if indeed it is actually used.



The wire in question is Black with a yellow strip, is a single wire on it's own in a sleeve and branches of the wiring from the part of the loom that connects to the aux air pump - it has a female spade crimp on the end and based on it's length it sits around the engine below the throttle body type area.



Does anyone have a clue what this is for?

Afraid not - I'll get one on Thursday (car/van isn't at my house) and it was 2am this morning when I was finishing up! lol

If its just about the oil filter housing and has about 2 inches of wire I think it's for an Oil temp sender fitted to a ICR

As chambers said it sounds like the oil temp sensor wire which is standard on the ibiza cupra r. think the loom is on all ibizas though.

Thats the one! Ok great so i dont need it - never noted before when removing the engine etc so was a little lost when I noticed it!
