How to Wire a Simple ON/OFF Switch and Push Button for Cruise Control on Bosch EDC15P+?

Hi all,

I’m trying to add basic functionality to the cruise control system on my car, which uses a Bosch EDC15P+ ECU (from a 1.9 TDI engine). Specifically, I want to:

1. Install a simple ON/OFF switch to enable/disable the cruise control.

2. Add a push button to set the desired speed.

I’ve read that the EDC15P+ ECU supports cruise control via specific pin connections, but I’m unclear on:

Which pins on the ECU are used for these inputs (ON/OFF and Set Speed).

Whether I need any resistors, relays, or additional components to safely wire these controls.

If anyone has a wiring diagram, pinout for the EDC15P+, or experience setting this up, I’d greatly appreciate your guidance!

Thanks in advance for your help!

I think it is the central convenience controller XS3 that does the cruise. The ECU has 1 or 2 wires on it from that controller but the stalk has 4 wires to the controller. The stalk has 2 switches, a simple on/off which holds it's position and a 3 position Resume/off/set which is biased to "off". So Motronic ECU connects to T121/38 & T80/24, Diesel ECU T121/14, Simons ECU T121/28, 4MV ECU T121/38 where T121 is the top connector. See attached. You also need to code to enable it. I did it about 9 year ago (search DIY cruise control).
