210 vs 225 specs

Hi guys,

I have just bought an '04 225 LCR after selling my 210 yesterday, there's a couple of little differences though, first thing I noticed is no red stripe on the air vents, I thought all 'R's' had the red stripe on the vents? These are just plain plastic, don't even have the metal insert.

Also the parcel shelf has fixed 'strings' my older 210 had retracting ones. Seems odd buying a newer more 'flagship' model and its got small changes that appear to have been there from new and more basic. Could things like this be specified originally? It has the usual 225 steering wheel and all the other 'R' touches.

Oh and there's a first aid symbol on the boot carpet but no kit, where would it go and are they and the other items available from seat?

I know the parcel shelf strings changed but thought all LCR's had the red bit on the vents.

The LCR does have the red strip and underneath is chrome so its strange yours doesn't have it. As for the parcel shelf they are fixed. Not sure about the first aid kit but I'll have a look at mine tomorrow.

Thanks, I thought it strange too, my 210's passenger side was scratched through to the chrome, offending long nails I think.. these literally look like they have been lifted from a basic early leon just plain black plastic. Will get a pic tomorrow if I can. Can't see anyone would have changed all the vents though. But I'd like to if its possible as feel it needs proper red ones.

Guess I'll have to look for a new parcel shelf, I like the retractable strings..

As promised pics of the dash.. Guessing the first owner didnt like the red and specified it without. Has anyone changed their vents, is it easy as I cant see how they fit at the moment, clips or screws?
Also realised the boot has no 'Leon' script just the 'cupra' and 'R' badges.

They are bog standard leon vents.

Nope, as above, basic as they come plastic vents, I take it the first owner thought the red was too bling lol

previous owner probably changed the red lcr ones for them because the red paint had flaked off. probably just a scrappy replacement.

I have a 210 and my vents have the red on the vents! Why did u buy a 225 and come from a 210 as they are exactly the same car apart from a few changes & same performance especially when remapped? Was u having problems with your other LCR?

Bit of a shame that. All he had to do was touch them up. Let us know how you get on with the parcel shelf.

Try and find another steering wheel as well.

Not sure on the vents but either way, genuine or not there not staying.

210 was a great car. Bought as a step up from my old mk2 golf, more comfy for my disabled fiancée. Incidentally it had her initials on the plate too. Long story short she left me 2 weeks ago. Nothing wrong with the car just personal feelings and platinum 225 is what I always wanted. Its noticeably better.

Not sure whether to try Seat for the shelf or look second hand. Does anyone know what a new wheel costs?

Parcel shelf, looks like the retractable string type, could always ask the seller.

Any money the red has worn off so the seller decided to scratch the paint off

same as the wheel it alls flakes off eventually

either that or they are from another standard leon plastic looks different shade of black

The vents just pull out, use this excuse to get some illuminated S3 ones in there, loads better
