Anybody ever fitted this size tyre to an Ibiza cupra alloy?

Also what are people's favourite tyres for the cupra? I'm swaying towards hankook Ventus v12.

Currently have Falken fk452's on ;)

I think they'd be too big considering how low you are. How come you want 45s?

I had 215/35s on my FR when I had those TD 1.2s and even then they rubbed a bit on the arch, but I was pretty low

As for tyres, I swear by Yoko Parada spec 2 :)

I had 215/45/17 Evo V12's on my cupra tdi with no issues at all on stock suspension. Improved ride and lower road noise.

Would having a bigger profile tyre not throw off the speedo slightly?

Yes, slightly. As it turned out, mine was bang on the money against my satnav, so no more over reading after the tyre change. Normally they over read by a a few mph.

More interested in road handling and grip as I intend on doing a few track days if i can this year but can't afford £100+ a tyre :\

always found the 205-40-17 falkens to be the best all round tbh mate. 205 yokos were wider than the 205 falkens mind. Think 215's would do more harm than good unless you wound it up

Ye I haven't had any issues an found them ok but thought it might be worth having a look at those Hankooks. I woul wind it up in the name of handling :) might go 205/45 then hmmmm
