Clutch slip adjustment

My old 305lb/ft 130 did over 30k in 18 months, no clutch slip ever.

My new Cupra has had 298lb/ft for 3 and a half years and guess what, it has never slipped.

I had a customer with a 160k PD130 Golf the other day, remapped from 10k and yes, no clutch slip ever!

To those that kill clutches, do you know how to drive? Sounds harsh, but I REALLY don't get it!

Just had my 160 Cupra remapped and get clutch slip in 4th/5th/6th if I floor it from low revs like 2000rpm.

A while back I had a Mk 4 Golf 130 PD from new. I had it remapped (by the same company) and got the same problem. As the car was under warranty I had it de-mapped and took it in to the dealer and said the clutch sometimes slipped on damp mornings. They made some kind of quick adjustment, I took the car away, had it remapped and the clutch was never a problem again.

I want to have the same adjustment made on my Cupra but it is not under warranty and I really would prefer to get the local garage to do it rather than the dealer.

Do you know what the adjustment is?

As far as I know, there is no sort of adjustment that can be done. Normal fix is to use an uprated clutch that can handle the torque.

More likely they tried the "clutch burn" trick, some people reckon a procedure that involves burning/slipping the clutch for a short period will help "de-glaze" the clutch face and stop it slipping. Caan't remember where I read it now.
Perhaps this is what they tried.
Can't say I imagine it'll be a long-term fix, if it even works at all...
