I want the rear wheels as far out as possible for better handling. I fitted two 20mm spacers on each side on the rear and it looks awesome but wondering if the fuzz might be funny with it? The law is the tyre should sit within the arch right?? So will this be ok?

The reason the rear wheels sit further in is for handling but it does look better with them out, a rear arb would help turn in.:)

Here, there and everywhere ;)
A wider track will aid handling regardless whether it is front or rear due to being able to cope better with weight transfer from corner to corner.

The law states that as long as the tread of the tyre is within the line of the arch its legal, having run with stretch and poke for 5years i understand this ;)

think you'll be eaten wheel bearings with that amount of spacer , mate runs mini lites on his 16v polo the stretch he has crazy would say the rim sticks 2" out of the arch with the tread just starting on the outer edge of the arch

30mm adaptors front and rear for the past 5 years with no issues although the bearings were replaced with Genuine ones just before the Porsche wheels went on.

I think its all a myth that additional spacers or ET will destroy the bearings lol

what absolute RUBBISH.

I had 20mm spacers on my old ibiza and ran well over 2 years with them and never had a problem, and the car covered well over 50k miles in that time!

the only reason why your mate consumed wheel bearings is because he ran a decked polo as well as running spacers.

lowing a car puts huge amounts of wear on suspension , cv points and bearings.

adam the wheel bearings where eaten up on my mates 306 maxi rally car rep NOT on the polo he has no spacers on what so ever , i run 20mm spacers but this guy want to double it so is bound to do some wheel bearings but then again thinking of people with porka rims some use 35mm spacers so maybe its just a peugeot thing

yes, but this guy is talking about using a TOTAL of 40mm spacing on the rear, NOT 40mm either side ;)

so 20mm either side wont really stress the bearings that much.

and if you think 35mm - 40mm spacers are bad... i wonder how the MR2 boys with their fezza conversions cope with spacers like this

What I think you should do is donate the 20mm H&R spacers to a race lupo and just keep the 20mm's you had :p because your lovely brother is taking you to see top gear being filmed on Wednesday
