hi,

am currently the proud owner of a black altea freetrack. Looking to add a second car and I fancy the Leon.
Specifically the Seat Leon 2.0 16V T FSI FR DSG

Before I start hunting around I wondered if I could pick your brains for 2 things:

1. whats a good price for one of these (forecourt/private)

2. what are the potential problems I should be looking at on a low(ish) mileage 57 plate (other than the obvious recalls etc)?

any info much appreciated.

Phil

I have an 07 plate Leon FR TFSi. It's done just less that 54000 miles and it's great up til last month when a few lights came on the dash board. Got these checked and garage says it's the throttle body at fault. That's the only problem I've had.

The price I paid for mine was £6000. I felt this was a good price as it was low milage and I plan on keeping the car for a while. Wanted 3 door but with a baby on the way need 5 door. This met both requirements I guess as it's a 5 door yet with the hidden rear handles looks like 3 door. Win win haha

Hope this helps??

Yeah I did mate. But it wasn't a Seat dealer tho. Just a small independent dealer. Got a good deal too

Not an FR but I have a 2007 Cupra on 50k miles, only thing that's gone wrong in the 3 years I've owned it (touch wood) is a heated mirror glass stopped working and cost me a tenner to replace.

Check the fuel pump cam follower as a precaution, excessive wear on these can cause serious issues. If it looks worn replace it.

hey.

thanks for the info, much appreciated.

Im kind of leaning towards the Cupra more at the minute but I imagine this info is just as relevant.

im also really wary of the DSG box: I already have a car with a DPF and all the trouble that comes with it, im not sure I fancy adding a potential 5k bill for a gearbox on my second!
