6 speed conversion

Can a Leon Cupra r 20v 6 speed box fit a mk3 Cupra ibiza? If so does it work well with the car?
Has it been done before?
Is it a hard conversion?

Car would be slower with 6 gears from your other threads seems like you like the Leon more than the Ibiza so why not just get a Leon lol??

It's easyier and possibly cheaper long run to buy a quaife 6 spd kit that fits in the 5 speed case!

5th is soooo long I wouldn't bother. Custom mounts will have to be made, probably custom drive shafts, then you have to work out if they will fit the hubs etc.

If I was spending any kind of large money on transmission it would be for the 5spd SQS Gearset.

Yeah the 6 speed box is a lot bigger and heavier than the 5speed so wouldn't fit. And it's fecking pointless!

It's not pointless, bigger clutch and a stronger gear set.

Whether its worth the hassle is another thing.
