anyone really tidied theirs up? any pics of really clean bays? any nice touches/easy mods that can be done? I know the 16V's can have bits polished etc, but apart from painting up the Rocker cover , and going to town with elbow grease, is there much that can be done in an 8V bay?

brummy its the simple things that makes the difference, re routing untidy cables, good clean obviously like you stated, back to black or silicone spray any black plastics ect...are you running a airbox of induction?

here's one i prepared earlier.:help:

standard airbox, although I do have in my possession a 'Green' cone filter that bolts straight on instead of..

get some back to black 6to start with...get all that shite done....polish up the slam panel to..get a nice clean shine to that and it pulls the eye away from the engine bay where there should be, the man of engines the ABF! ;)

i will have to get a good picture of mine but its clean i was thinking about braiding the hoses but the clips are not easyest to take off

I really do have to pay attention to my engine bay this year, I usually get the car clean, stick yet another different set of alloys on it , turn up at shows and leave the bonnet firmly shut!

I'm currently sorting out my engine bay, hiding the wires, removing stuff and cleaning everything. It's a nightmare! And it's taking ages! The wiring is the hardest, trying to hide it and extending it if you need. Wish I hadn't started!

There a nightmare to stay on top of and keep clean john I was for ever polishing mine and going through clothes and de greaser and cans of back to black.....

I know what you mean about the 8v bay though. There is so much space in there.

I once saw a nice clean mk2 golf bay in PVW with a 8v lump in it all polished up and a little mini moto filter sticking out the 2 instead of the 2 way rubber pipe...looked good.

well one the weather pics up Dan and I can start getting the beastie ready for the summer (spring will be pretty much blown over by the time I can get to shows etc , although I may be able to get to Cov a time or two) I want to at least get it looking as well as it possibly can.

Surely there's got to be a quick way to do this, i don't like the idea of elbow grease and de greasers. Can i not get a steamer and go to town on it or will this knacker electrical things?

The advantage of a 16v is the under tray which stops a hell of a lot of crap travelling up from under the car.

By the way the state of mine will put any other MK2 to shame
