Not what he wrote; "Will see, if they are too wide hopefully the place i ordered them from lets me swap the rears for some 8.5j one"
9.5 front, 8.5 rear.
Lift off oversteer will be fun.
Maybe not but I understood what he meant. He talked about his car being ‘stanced’ in the 2nd paragraph.

However I understand why you may think he would of gone 9.5 front 8.5 rear on the basis on what he’s done ordering them in the first place LOL

OK, I'm old. What's stanced? Is that millenial speak for what was known as raked for decades.
In our ‘old man’ world it’s basically where you ruin the handling of your car so that you can also ruin the look of your car to go with it...

...they’re not all done to that extreme to be fair. Some aren’t bad. But some are worse...

However in their defence, if we all liked the same thing, life would be boring.

I’m in the ‘old man’s’ club and IMO that’s not a good look for a car. The thing I dislike visually about lowered cars is how the wheel arch gap is removed at the top of the wheel and tyre, but the original gap exists between tyre and wheel arch at the lower edge of the wheel arch. So you loose the concentric circle look between wheel arch and tyre. IMO it just looks odd, but as you’ve said, it’s good we don’t all like the same things.

It would be interesting to see what the tyre wear looks like on that Merc, and how often the tyres have to be replaced.

I wrote in the first comment that the rear wheels are 9.5j haha. I didn't say they were that size all round. Any who, I fitted them and I'm happy with the result.

Not my cup of tea (but then I’m old and set in my ways :D) - it’s your car so it doesn’t matter what others think and it’s good we don’t all like the same things, otherwise life would be boring. The stretched tyre look makes your wheels quite vulnerable to kerbing, so make sure you keep well away from kerbstones when parallel parking so you don’t scuff your wheels.

I’d be interested to know how long it takes to clean those wheels - they’re a very intricate design with 60 holes in each wheel to clean the brake dust out of! It would probably take me as long - if not longer - to clean the wheels as it would to clean the whole car :).

I like the way you think and I haven't got round to cleaning them yet, I need some info on decent products and stuff if anyone has any? So scared to curb them hahaha! Just got to be careful! Cheers mate! And yes damo 8.5 et 42 front, 9.5 et35 rear, they do like slightly but only really the lips. All I need to do is roll the rear arches very slightly as when there is excess weight in the boot(like when I had the standard wheels, subwoofer and mountain bike in on the way back from fitting the wheels, there was a slight rub on the bumps, but nothing bad enough to take the paint away.

Boring maybe. But also not mindnumbingly stupid and a fashion victim.
Back in the day our mates would have laughed their c**ks off, and our bosses would have sacked us.
