96 Cordoba Gearbox

hi guys,
looking at getting a second hand gearbox for my cordoba but living in Australia there is no Seat wreckers so was hoping to find out what VW gearbox it uses. anyone know what u should be looking for?

You could try registering with vagcat online

http://www.vagcat.com/

and checking out the parts catalogue, it gives you all the different boxes used and which engines etc. Worth a shot anyway. Also don't forget if you have access to the ibiza of a similar age it has a lot of parts the same and also some polos. If you get the part number for the box then do a part number search it comes up with a list of cars that all use the same part.
