hi all,

have a few questions that im unsure about

first off, how many people have fitted catch tanks to there abf's? anyone got a guide, im unsure where i should mount it but more inportantly how to plumb it in? :)

fitted my gauges properly today and all seems well, just wondering what sort of pressure should i be running at, from start and once at running temp?

also ive been doing all discs and pads all round, this turn into a pain in the ass.. all hose are siezed so tight i couldnt fit my braided ones. was worried to apply more pressure as didnt want to break the lines.. anybody any idea cost of new lines?

also struggled immensly to get rears off, still havent removed disc yet but from the looks of the new one it seems like there is a wheel bearing that sits in behind? am i correct? anybody any tips that im likely to need or am i likely to stumble across any more problems?

cheers :D

yes m8 , behind the disc is a big bearing and an oil seal , and on the front side of the disc smaller bearing then locknut . remember the bearings shims(dunno if that what they called) are pressed into the disc

-im assuming the 16v is identical to 8v btw

Commen problem for the brak unions seize and round off, all I can say is keep soaking them with wd40 or plus gas and buy a decent brake pipe spanner, if that doesnt work you'll have to make up new pipes I'm afraid and I dont know how much that will be.

Dont really understand the problem with the rear disc but it should come off real easy once you've taken the caliper off and removed the hub nut.

rear bolts where shagged and rounded off, probably why the last owner only changed pads and not discs even tho they needed doing, only way we could get them off was by hot air gun and a set of stensons pipe grips! lol, bodged but got them loose in the end!

ill have to have another go at those hoses, everything is siezed solid. even an air rachet struggled with some bolts, dont think any of it has been taken off since new

cheers gm8, as for the catch tank, im guesing, using some hose from the crank case breather to a catch tank then back to the black box up front which therefore goes back to airbox?

just fitted the 4 rear braided to mine, but the N/S/F was fooking tight and started to round even with lubricant and a quality 6 sided brake pipe 11mm.

so ive left both the fronts with standard hoses.

I might well be doing my rear discs too. Have to let me know how you find it - as it seems that you're a lot better at this than me

Good Luck with it

tbh honest ollie i wouldnt attempt it if i were you unless you have lots of tools. abs ring was a *******io to get off, had to heat it up and somehow prise it off. all bolts were pretty seized solid and need a shed load of heat and eco rust off.

brake lines are always snapping - i've given up and just fit new brake pipes each time so far

reminds me i have 2 fronts to do so where's that roll of copper pipe gone :)

was gonna post a reminder don't forget the abs ring :) but looks like your sorted
