ABF Inlet pipe query

How restrictive is the inlet pipe on an ABF?

Ive seen it has the big recess in it for the brake reservoir so would it be beneficial to swap it for a more free flowing pipe like a samco jobbie or is it going to make naff all difference to the car?

Id only do it if i were to notice a difference in the way it drives :D

I had a samco one on mine. Apparently the standard ones collapse under heat, whereas a silicone one wouldn't, helping airflow.

there is a propper samco one, with a recessed part to clear suspension turret. You can use a std silicone bend but i found it rubbed on turret until my strut brace actually wore through silicone hose!

Not the greatest picture but you get the idea. Didn't touch the brake reservoir or the strut brace.

Think there will be a fair few of us that'll want one of those, I had a custom made Jobbie with a BMC CDA Airbox and a Samco 90o bend and it rubbed on the Brake resevoir so binned it, did sound the nuts and was loud enough to set car alrms off:cartman:
If they don't make them anymore I'm sure if we can 10 of us together they'd make some up as I'm sure thy'll still have the measurements laying around!

I dont think they collapse, never seen them do this on RR's and providing the airfilter is flowing as it should, there is no vacuum to make it collapse

would think they are a waste of money

Didn't really notice a difference, well not enough to justify £200, did make a superb noise though combined with the BMC Airbox!

Paisley_cupra had a Stainless steel one made up, give him a shout may be able to get more done??
