I have an 07 Ibiza FR which i bought last August, and just a few weeks back after a long drive in the rain I felt my ABS kicking in when i was braking. After a few times of this the ABS and TCS lights both came on and the brakes worked as normal with no ABS kicking in.

I took it to the mechanic and he referred me to his friend to get the diagnostics onto it, when i got it hooked up there was one fault found:
00283 - ABS Wheel speed sensor: Front Left (G47)
008 - Implausible Signal
I then got back to the mechanic and he said to replace the sensor, so he ordered it and fitted it for me, at first the light went out but as he drove it 100 yards and broke the ABS started kicking in again and then further down the road the lights came on again. This went on for a couple of days and then i went back to get the diagnostics on it again..... it came up with the exact SAME FAULT!!
Then the guy run a live data log ( i think thats what its called ) where he checks the speed of each wheel as i drive, it showed that the sensor was reading the speed but was taking longer to read it than the other 3 wheel sensors.

Since the new sensor has been in i have also came across problems with the speedometer not going over 20MPH untill the 2 lights come on then just shooting up to correct speed, and i also had a problem with the car reving when in neutral before changing gear!!

It seems just my luck that it has happend 6 weeks after my warrenty has expired.

Does it sound like the ABS ECU might need changed?
OR
Does the sensor come with a cable or is the cable the next thing that i should change?

Any help or advice would be greatly appreciated!

Got it sorted, incase any of yous have a similar problem!

Took the car to an auto spark from my footy team, checked the sensor and wire, both ok!
when he examined the wheel with the problem he relised the wheel bearing was sitting out 3 or 4mm more than it should, meaning the sensor was not picking up the copper ring! ordered a new wheel bearing and got it fitted and the fault has cleared! SO FAR SOO GOOD!!

Now to get on Donnelly SEAT's case as they fitted the new wheel hub last august when i bought the car as it was damaged when i bought it!

Thanks for posting the diagnosis. I have the same problem- the brakes before and after changing the front discs and calipers, so no change there. The ABS light comes on 2 minutes into the drive. Before that the speedo registers 5-15mph although i'm going 20-30. The brakes feel and sound gravelly and judder; then the ABS light comes on and it is smooth braking feel again but no ABS/traction control. I had car lowered 15 months ago- they routed ABS cable wrong way- this was sorted last week and the two internal wires of it gripped back together and only a slight delay on ABS light going on and off, but maybe they bodged the connection to the hub and that has gradually persished due to dirt getting into a slight gap? Many thanks in advance..
