The ABS warning light has cone on this AM.
Braking is OK, but obviously no ABS.
Any ideas on the cause and or guesses as to likely cost, or is it too general an enquiry?

Hi. Could be faulty wheel sensor ( just replaced one of mine at a cost of £30 for the part), easy fix just one Allen bolt holding the unit in. You can get a diagnostic from a friendly garage that will tell you which one has gone so you don't end up changing the wrong one. The sensor is a tight fit inside the hub and you WILL destroy the old one when you take it out- I put copper grease on the new one when I re fitted it.

Might also be dirty or have a damaged reluctor ring, mine has been acting up this winter but a blast of the power washer puts it right again.

Thanks - it's in our local SEAT garage tomorrow AM for diagnosis.

It turned out to a problem with the outer CV joint!
Not sure if there is some sort of information sent from that to the ABS system, but in any event a new joint complete has been fitted.
The part :- 7M0498099AX cost 224.11 euros , labour 89.94 euros + VAT = total 367.04 euros.
Could have done without that just before returning to Blighty for good!
