Hi,

I have the ACC system on my car.

90% of the time it works fine and its great to use.

However randomly, i will get a ping saying the sensor is being blocked / cant be found, after a couple of minutes of driving however, it will come back.

Anybody else seen this behaviour before ?

Thanks

Only once, in very bad rain/sleet/snow. Apart from that I've never had an issue. Yours should be the same.

On my Golf it warned me a few times of a crash about to happen, took it back and they couldnt find anything. Hasnt done it since so they must have done something.
They are sensitive to being clean though.

Mines only done this once in heavy rain which the manual does say can be an issue.

Mine also has alerted for things that arnt really an issue and well within my control.

Like it happened today, dry and sunny, on the motorway.

luckily it detected that traffic was slowing and was slowing down while it happened.

Mentioned it to the Seat dealer, but there were no fault codes.

Ill see if there is any dirt or anything .

Can these sensors become loose ?

cheers

my ACC/Brake assist warning came on last week and took it to dealers. apparently upon their diagnostics I had had 3 near crashes!!! so it locks itself out and you can't use either feature.
true it has applied the brakes in an emergency, but surely that's the reason for it???
they also said, quite worryingly, is if this happens again the 'radar' will need replacing which then wouldn't be under warranty!. more money making from the bad boys at VAG.
unless someone knows different.....

Why would the radar need replacing? I think they are talking complete rubbish. I would try somewhere else!

Glad to know it works, I've not yet had a moment where it's applied the brakes in an emergency

Mine would occasionally do this, until a few weeks ago it went into complete meltdown. All sorts of warnings on dashboard, acc, front assist, and start stop became unavailable, with dashboard going crazy!

Dealers identified a wire from the radar had come loose, and worn through causing it to earth & causing the issues. They didn't even have to take the bumper off to fix - just the lower tray.

Hope this helps :)

I agree with MyLeon, a 2nd dealer may be the answer if I ever have same situation again.
