Ads MK2 Ibiza 2.0 8v GTI Cupra Sport // New update 25/04/2012

well i though it was about time i started to put a progress thread up as i've been on here for a few months now

got the car back in feb off my mate for a reasonable £550, its a 1997 2.0 8v GTI cupra sport in the bronze/ginger colour (misses named the car ginger as it matches her hair colour lol)

since owning the car its been awesome to drive loving every minute of it so far...

few niggles i had to sort out:

• fog lights needed new bulbs
• reprogram the key fob to unlock and the lock the doors

other week it was my M.o.t which it failed cost around £215 to repair so now ive got a healthy 12 month m.o.t again lol

and while the car was at the garage i thought i may aswel get the exhaust fitted what i bought off Crezz (thanks again mate)

and today i thought about the brainwave i had the other day lol by putting the sub in the wheel well, so thought i'd give it ago:

it looks ok but i need a sheet of mdf underneath the boot carpet to strengthen it out as you can see it dips slightly.

all in all up to now the car is spot on until yesterday lol the bloody cable has snapped on my electric window so now I've got to get that sorted... do i pay £20 for the cable and repair kit or do i pay £120 for the complete window mechanism?

anyway that's where i am up to so far... next 2 weeks it will be getting a service, hopefully a set of Hids and August/September time a remap... (mobile remap come to your house £200 not bad price i say)

mate, looking good but id go to scrappers and get a mechanism from a mk2/3 ibiza + cordoba or a 3 door mk4 polo. crezz`s zorst looks fab too!

cheers pal, gonna cost a bit to get it where i want it to be but ill get there and yeah that was the other option mate... but cant get scrappy without bloody petrol lol... does look smart dont it

I used to have an almost identical one on my mk3 golf. Does yours have a brand name on it? Id like another that looks like that but Ive got quite a rudeboy jobbie on the mk4.

The plans that you have sound good aswell. And I agree with Athers, the exhaust definetely does look good .

cheers and i know it needs a clean so then i can go get some pics taken ... not much is going to change now on the outside other than Hids and a tidy up on the scratches/rust bits.

and yup im happy with the outcome of what the exhaust looks like on the car i know people like the stealth look but each to there own aint it

try B&Q mate. or if you have any d.i.y shops near you try them as they maybe cheaper.

need either a new cable or the whole kit for my drivers side electric window.
