Hi Everyone!

I'm new on here. I have read a few of the forums, and this is a brilliant place for Seat owners to share their knowledge and help others.

I have bought a 2007 Seat Altea 1.9 TDI Stylance. Previously, I owned the same but in a reference model (got stolen!)

Anyways, I am proud to own this new one and love it to bits! I have spent quite a bit of dosh on it already and going to do bits and pieces to it straight slowly.

The car has no service history as it used to be a fleet vehicle. Is it advisable to give it a service or maybe change the oil and filter? or maybe a full service, air f, oil f, oil, pollen f and a air con clean?

The car has done 42,000. When should I change the timing belt?

Also on the beginning of gear one and 2 when I'm pulling away, especially when the car is cold, when acceleration I feel a slight judder. My conclusion was this maybe the clutch. I took it to 2 reputable mechanics and they both said clutch is fine.

Also I'm looking to change the alloys to something decent. Anyone advise me what the sizing of the studs could be?

Also I'm looking to add maybe a backpart to the exhaust. Is this same as the Leon?

Your help is much appreciated.

Cambelt replacement interval will be in the service booklet. I'd be wary of believing what the dealers tell you, as 40k miles means they see you car a lot more than the service manual specified interval, therefore more money for them.

Wheel bolt specs are 5 x 112.

Exhaust will be the same as the comparable Leon.

I'd give it a full service with oil filter, air filter, fuel filter, pollen filter, engine oil, brake fluid, and check all pads/discs while in there.
