Folks, I'm 55 today, currently own a 17 plate 1.4 fr.
I've recently had a heart attack survived obviously.
I'm thinking of changing to a cupra estate auto 4 drive.
Is there anything I need to look for, are they as reliable as my current leon has been (very very good).
Not very sensible, but I only do low mileage yearly.
Cheers any advice greatly appreciated.
There are plenty for sale to look at.

I have had my Cupra ST300 4Drive for 18 months now and it has been totally reliable and cheap to service at an independent VAG specialist.

However my independent has told me that the water pump thermostat housing is made of plastic and it will fail at some point between 15,000 and 50,000 miles. The cost is around £600 for them to replace, a main dealer will be about double.

Make sure the differentials are serviced, gearbox serviced.

- Waterpump is a known weak point
- The gasket behind the oil filter housing as well
- Silicat bag in the coolant tank is something to look out for. Either remove it and use G12 EVO or replace the bag with a silicat container. If they rupture, you will need to replace the heatercore in/under the dashboard

Shot this video from a buddy of mine with an ST 4Drive. Good luck with the search!
