Hi guys what a lovely sunny day ;)

Noticed a couple of days ago the external aerial had black tape wrapped around it  so decided to buy a nex external aerial expecting when the worst when removing the tape.

Well, removed the tape and its in a bit of a mess the old aerial. Tried to unscrew the aerial and it unscrews to a point and then it just doesnt seem to be unscrewing no matter how much you turn. I have a feeling a thread in the bolt may be damaged or something?

Can someone help? with the tape off now it looks a bit of a mess :(

Buy a Honda stubby and to remove the old aerial its a brut force thing. Pull and twist at the same time.

Sorry not to with it regarding aerials

What do you mean by a honda stubby?

When you say its a brut force thing, I have tried unsrewing it and it just unscrews but nothing it happening, its like I can keep on turning it all day and it wont screw off anymore  or am I not applying enough pressure maybe?

Thats why you need to pull at the same time as unscrewing. Bit like patting your head and rubbing your tummy.

Honda stubby - Stump wee black aerial. Looks much nicer than the long whip style aerials.

Right with you now :p

Where is best place to get one of those honda stumps?

I bought this about a week ago, will this fit do you think....

I managed to get the arosa aerial off after taking your advice, but quickly tried to fit the new one I bought (in link) and doesnt seem to want to tighten (screw on)... :(

You need a larger thread on the screw which, is why the honda stubby ones (which look fairly similar to the one in your link) are a perfect fit.

May look the same but, its the thread on the base that may be slightly different. You can also try a bit of plumbers tape around the base of the aerial you have to keep it in place but, it may turn out to be a wee begger to remove later on.

Managed to sort it in the end ;) so got the aerial I bought off ebay (earlier posted) to fit and it looks cool. Thanks for your help with btw.
