Aftermarket steering wheel

Was thinking about getting an aftermarket steering wheel as iam not keen on the standard leather one. My original is about 370mm and was looking at the 350mm MOMO Trek-R black leather wheel. Momo badge acts as a horn and the boss kit which will make it fit also has airbag bypass wiring with it.

Anyone else got an aftermarket steering wheel they would like to share pics ?

Also can anyone shed some light on airbags and MOT's i.e. mine wouldn't have one if I put this on but I can bypass the airbag warning light on the dash.

Any thoughts on the wheel ?

Im sure the new MOT rules are if it had an airbag in steering wheel when it come out the factory then its got to have one. Also i would prefer to keep the airbag with the standard wheel for safety reasons Not fond on those "race" style ones

Said its fine charge no extra , 4 point harnesses I'm not going any where near the steering wheel so no need for one

As for all the guff about danger, what about walking down the pavement next to a road? FAR more dangerous than driving, yet we all do it. We could minimise the risks and all wear inflatable suits when we are walking but we don't.

Risk is a very personal thing. Some say without risk there would be no evolution of the species and that would be a shame eh?

I have had a Momo wheel for years now passed down from my Passat 1.8t no issues. Had my latest mot in Jan never had a query in the 5 years I've had my mot's done and they've always been done at a VW dealers.

I'll be getting an aftermarket wheel soon myself - i was wondering the other day what does everyone do about the airbag fault light as new MOT tests are much stricter ?

Is it as simple as fitting a resistor like with other engine sensors you remove ??

if you get the boss kits to make the wheel fit they come with bypass wiring to trick it in to thinking the airbags there so the light wont come on
