You cant simply remove the software and leave the hardware in place that is asking for major problems

Im not sure if you change the software and leave the dpf in place. The garage explained how on mine they will remove the dpf fully and remap the software for performance and so no lights appear on the dashboard. And has told me will still pass emissions test. Should get it back on thursday.

What's everyone going to go when it's MOT time then? I was under the impression that you could just use the software and leave everything in the exhaust so it looked the the DPF was still in use?

Can anyone clarify?

I've had mine gutted so it looks like it's still in place, but to be honest I'm more worried about the fumes that's coming out the back on tickover, smells so bad your eyes sting.

Anyone else's do this?

At my last mot the mechanic said mine smelled a bit so he Could tell it had been tuned but never mentioned the dpf, that was November admittedly but I doubt he would care after the law is changed, just get your dpf gutted and find a decent indie garage and you'll be fine

The software is there to monitor the sensors for when the DPF gets blocked up, If you remove the software the DPF will block up and ... dead car.

You need to gut the DPF, Remove software

I can't remember whether or not I had the dpf in place at the last mot, I'll have to dig out the receipt, I know nothing was on the mot certificate about it. Just have to wait and see I suppose.

You can leave dpf in place upto 200 to 205bhp stage 1after that the dpf restricts the flow and issues begin with blockage n regens.ditch the dpf to get stage 2 bhp 205 to 230 ish.
