Air recycle intake hole

i searched but couldn't find anything.

I'd like to stick an air fresher there as the car itself smells good, but when ever i put recycle/aircon on, it smells really musky and not pleasent.

Perhaps an aircon regas and disinfect might be a more permanent option? It's pointless hiding the smell if it's just going to come back again. Get it flushed out and cleaned, a new carbon impregnated cabin filter and things will clean up on their own.

Change the cabin/pollen filter, that'll get rid of the smell.
It's under/behind the glovebox.
