im bored and want to drill it now, will it matter if i leave the ducting for now and just do it at a later date?
10-15mm will do the trick. Make sure they don't go above the filter line though!

How many holes did you put in?
I did a test drive and it's really loud! The DV is quite loud with a significant whooshing sound. Maybe I put in too many holes! Sounds good though!

You will get a bit of condensation on the inside of the bonnet but other than that no, You will hear the airbox and DV working better.

i cant member how many holes, just went mad really lol, how many holes you got in yours mate? will it be worth smoothing it out aswell?
You can drill as many as you like in the lower half of the box, as long as the bit that is engine-side of the filter has none! The lower half of the box can be made to look like a sieve if you want!!!
Here is mine at the moment. I have drilled the battery and wing side so far. Might do the engine and bulkhead sides too at some point!
gonna put a few more in mine then as its not that loud aslo try smoothing it aswel, does this make much more difference
