Hi,

I have looked/searched on the site but could't find any answers/suggestions to my problem.

I have a MK4 6L 2006 Ibiza 1.9 TDi FR.

Yesterday the aircon seemed to stop blowing warm/hot air and today I get in it (To and from work) and the aircon is dead.

I have full display and operational centre panel, the fans work correctly (Increasing and decreasing in speed as appropriate) but all it blows out now is cold air. As if the heating isn't working and the fans are just blowing air through the engine bay from outside.

The car has been almost faultless for the last 3-4 years.

Any suggestions?

My mate has suggested "a fuse" or "the system may need re gassing!" Could these be it, and if so how would I go about changing a fuse or getting the system "re-gassed?"

Any advice would be greatly received and very appreciated.

Thanks in advance.

Stu

Certainly not a re-gassing problem! More likely a stuck temperature control flap or an air lock in the water pipe. (This especially if you've drained your coolant and refilled).
As far as I know, there's only one fuse involved (29), so if the rest of the system is OK, distribution flaps working etc., I don't think that's the problem. Hope this is some help - it's the best I can do!

Crisis averted. I forgot to post this the other day but it turned out that one of the Coolant System pipes had been rubbing against another and had worn to the point of bursting/breaking and there allowed allowed all the coolant to leak out.

Halfords Autocentre did a diagnostic for £50 and parts and labour for the fix cost £18.

Th only annoying thing now is that I have a slight vibration from behind the centre of the dash somewhere, at low revs and just when I'm lifting off the clutch. But not a big deal.

:)
