Wolverhampton!
Hey guys.....I have a 57 reg ibiza tdi pd 100. Now im not sure wether i have an alarm on it. Ive never heard it in the 16months since ive had it. Now ive looked in the manual but cant seem to see anything.

Does anybody have the same model car, and cud give me any info?:)

Much appreciated:D

I didn't realize I had one for 2 years, it goes off in torrential rain and I always thought it was somebody else's. On mine there's a button down on the right hand side of the drivers footwell to deactivate it, if you've got the button I suppose you've got the alarm (mine is an 02 tdi pd 100 se)

I'll check that out. Cheers.

just open your bonnet and let it rest so it's nearly closed.

then alarm the car, open the bonnet. You'll soon know if you've got one :p

I thought all TDI's had them from the factory anyway?

I'll be suprised if i havn't got 1. Don't most new cars have sum sort of alarms?

try central locking yourself inside the car and move aroubd inside...that should set it off for certain

Tried the bonnet trick and no alarm....very suprised at that as my 53reg ibiza had an alarm.

I know for a fact my 03 leon has one, that thing with the bonnet wont work (i just tried it :p). The alarm wont arm itself properly if it senses one of the doors or bonnet open.
So if you half open the bonnet, lock the car, then open it the rest of the way the alarm won't go off because it hasnt been set!

One test I use is sit in the car, lock it with the key fob, then start the ignition, the alarm should go off.

The bonnect trick worked on my polo but it seems its not the same as the ibiza?

Yeah, if your got remote locking, lock yourself in and jump about ! Like the others said.

Or lock it with your window down and jump in :D

best way to set of your alarm is if you have a spare key,ie not the one with a unlock button for the central locking. Open the door with the spare key and wait, you have 5 seconds to put in the ignition or the alarm (if you have one) goes off!! Andy

lol all diffrent then i get less than 5 (it is impossible to open the door and get the key in without it going off) lol (56reg fr)

The PD100 does not have an alarm.

It has the SEAT security system II which has a CAT2 approved immobiliser only.

You need to be in FR/Cupra territory to get the SEAT security system I which has a CAT1 approved alarm and immobiliser as standard

My FR was the same - you had to get the key in the ignition and get it turned asap or the alarm went off - luckily I used the remote key nearly all the time!
