Hi, ive a 2002 toledo 1.9 tdi se and my button key doesnt work so have to open the car manually but whenever i unlock the car and then a passenger opens a door or the boot, the alarm goes off? But it doesnt go off it i open the drivers door. The only time it doesnt go off when a passenger opens a door is if that key is in the ignition. Any advice? Cheers

Standard behaviour. You need to get the key into the ignition within a short time to turn off the alarm - once the key has been recognised by the immobiliser, then the alarm is cancelled. I think it tells you this in the manual? Not sure, but I know that's what I had to do.

You may well find that the keyfob has broken/worn out. They are not cheap to replace unfortunately.
