Hi Cupra-ites
I'm loving my new car and being a bit of a techy guy im enjoying all of the gadgetry - however i can not get the Alexa app and i've tried to involve the IT team but with no success yet - Has anybody else tried to download it and had any problems - Mine seems to be with the validation of my address - I know that VW use IDENT to verify this - Ive also noticed that the SEATID webpage and the MYSEAT portal keeps changing - so i'm assuming that there maybe teething issues - just interested to know if anybody else has tried it

Cheers

I can’t get mine to work either or log in to Tidal. Need a bit more time to play around with it before I smash it with a hammer lol

I trialled the Alexa app in my leon but I found it to be very limited. The app was called seat media control with Alexa (android only at the time)It has since been discontinued.

I've use android auto now.

Yes the old media app would do random things like playing music when you asked it a question about something else. Good surrogate for a companion on a long journey perhaps. I uninstalled since it took up a lot of memory on my Android device. Don't use Android Auto for navigation use the old built in system although the new connected service should offer the same advantages of real time navigation taking in realtime road conditions as reflected by databases tracking GPS movements. Your connected car now crowd sourcing in traffic speeds to compute the best route.

Using the Here Maps app, TomTom AmiGo and Google Maps did the picking up a takeaway challenge with Covid road closures in the town centre of an unfamiliar town comparing the three app plus the cars old Mib2, me being the navigator to get the curry back to the hotel room hot. Sadly Google Maps beat Here Maps and TomTom real time data. Google actually had the road closure in. Someone had tapped it in whilst the rest were observations of traffic speed. Probably to the other apps the closed road was the fastes with no trafic on it. As I mused at the time these adjunct apps including Google Maps jump roads in built up areas where navigation lock is more difficult, the cars built in navigation stays put where you last parked it and generally where you drive fixing you to the closest road. Not going off piste with GPS wobble. We did correctly leave the road outside the takeaway with the built in navigation whilst Googles Maps thought we were round the corner so was announcing wrong turns. 😉 😍
