alhambra front shock top mount

Hi all first time posting so bear with me please, This site has already helped me twice with 2 problems, alternator pulley and thermostat both faulty but now sorted. I need your help with a new set of problems
No 1 Can anybody send me a picture or a link for the set up of the front top suspension mount my hole shock/spring assembley moves ALOT !! when jacked up and you shake the wheel top to bottom (other side is solid). Been reading the other posts but cant figure out what is keeping the spring compressed is it the top mount or is there something else under the top mount doing this?

No2 Temp guage is erratic very slow to go up although the heaters are worm then it shoots up 10-20 degrees then it drops back down then goes back up as if it is waving good morning to you. It does get up to 90 degress in the end and stays there happy till the engine is switched off

Hi,

As far as im aware the top mount is a floating type 'not bolted in' The rubber mount is tapered and fits snug into the housing 'the top cap' prevents drop, its just the weight of the car keeping them in. if you jack one side up then yes it will become slightly loose while the other side will have weight on it and stay tight.

the other probs is more likely to be the temp sender on the side of the head. mine also needs doing and funny enough just got a new one delivered today

Cheers for that slight miss understanding what I meant was I jacked both sides up
Near side was moving alot but when I jacked off side up it didn't move, but cheers any way nice job for the weekend :0( where did you get your temp sensor main dealer told me there were two different types one green and black and one just green
