Alhambra raiator fan running all the time

Hi there, I have a 1.8t 20v y reg alhambra and the temp never gets above 60 when driving and takes a long time when parked up, has been like this for awhile and now after going for the MOT the cooling fan stays on even with the keys removed, I have pulled the plug apart just above the rad and even in the morning when I put it back togeather the fan runs. Any help and advice would be great. Many Thanks.

UPDATE-- After unpluging the the cooling fan the temp is a little better and gets hotter faster, thermostat or temp sender or both?

Thermostat, and the thermoswitch in the radiator. You can test the thermoswitch for this condition (always-on error) using an avometer or the like.
