alhambra turbo

Help please.. my bammers turbo has started making a whining noise today. its never done it before. is it on its way out or cold it be a hose or something?
Any help appreciated.

UPDATE!! got someone to have a look and he thinks its the tensionor on the belt that runs the air con compressor as it has got some play in it.

that would make more sense! turbo failure normally consumes a lot of oil & you lack any oomph

Yeah it got me because the whining seemed to be in time with the turbo spooling but friend said that it would be more of a whooshing sound and more constant, ie not easing off further up rev range which it is.
guess i'm just a panic merchant lol.

I have a Galaxy that I drive for work and a Alhambra as my personal car... both have the 115pd engine. The galaxy has always made a funny woooshing noise from the turbo on deacceloration (sp.?), the Alhambra never has. The Galaxy has now done 70,000 miles, so it can't be that terminal!

solved the problem now....bought a new car lol.
only went for a look but liked the car so mr HP bought me it.
