:confused:Hi all. Back with a problem! I have ahd my car aligned twice and both times has not been correct, went back to places straight away and they re-done the alignment and had it setup perfect but still not right, better but not 100%.

However grabbing each front wheel at 9 and 3 o'clock positions and 'wigglin' it i get some play, maybe 1mm, not from the wheels but like it is steering or hubs? Feels twitchy on motorway and just not as sharp as before?

Any Ideas?

I have always found the Altea to be a tad twitchy on the motorways.

Try dropping a few KGs of weight into the boot just to rule out the suspension play. I did a trip in the first Altea to Kent - using the M6 toll road. It was late at night, and very quiet - but the Altea -due to having full detailing kit in it was solid.

I went to the NEC this weekend in the new one - un laden, and had the twitchy feeling due to no weight.

In my opinion, due to the height the suspension is slightly to stiff to prevent body roll, and this then translates down through and across the chassis creating the twitchy feel you are getting.

Just my thoughts.

I agree it is solid with a load in, but it doesnt explain the play i can feel through the front wheels while driving and while physically moving the wheels.

I've had similar problems on my car.
@59k 'Front and rear drop links' fitted.
@67k Track rod end replaced.
I don't think they've got it quite right just yet though. It handles as good as it should and is a lot more stable at speed ;) but there is some slight knocking on low speed bumpy roads. I think I'll wait for the 72k service to get that looked at which will be coming up very shortly. It'll be interesting to see what the 3rd and final year brings up.
