Allard trouble...

Well, I think the Allard stickers are coming off my car now. After pumping over £4k into them in mods and mapping, I am somewhat taken aback by their sudden disappearance. Also, being an accountant, I am perplexed by the name changes and what's happened to the old name - from a money / legal side of view at least.

I've only been disappointed by the race cam they supplied which turned out to be a bad'un (which I never got any recourse on, but live and learn) but the 2 turbos, and the others bits and bobs have all been awesome, and continue to be. Makes me wonder if I now really have any kind of come back on my turbo now... guess not

Reading around the subject, and not in anyway linked to the aforementioned companies

Bounced cheques
Long delivery time
'problem' suppliers

All shouts at cashflow issues - wait til the cash is in the account, and place the order.

I've worked a company in similar circumstances, and people just don't deal with you if you have an overdue account.

What it means is someone will get burnt, and it'll either be people that are owed product, money or warranty

If people have been claiming on the warranty for products, this might confirm the move to 'unwarrantted' "off road use only" parts. or kits of parts that you can absolve responsibility for poor fitment & therefore warranty.

As I say, none of this is anything to do with these companies, I just wrote a load of words - so don't sue me

Just found this thread and don't even get me started on Allards, their advertisement states "from Mild to Wild" not "from Mild to Mullered" the amount of money I have inncurred due to using this company is unbelievable, and I am taking it through a small claims court, solicitors etc, the service I recieved was just astonishing!!

I have tried on numerous occasions to contact them to no avail [:@], I do not want to do a 250 mile trip to sort out this problem as, how do I know they are in if they don't answer/respond to calls or e-mails.

If people want to hear of my troubles I will gladly post here, my solicitor says if they complain let them try and justify their actions, at least I would have got an answer from them...

Agreed. however I would imagine someone would do alot to get £800 back!

There is a difference between slating and giving your opion on the product or service delivered. Paul can give this in any thread he wants, as long as he says from his experience before every sentence ;)

Not agreed.
This thread is what stopped me from buying off them. Public forum or not.

a recent high court judge stated that comments made on an internet forum were not thoughtfully provided, and were spur of the moment unreliable comments.... so basically the precedent was set that you can't sue (in the UK) for comments made on the web :) but it still needs to comply with our own rules & guidelines.

Tall Paul - have you tried to go down there and speak to them, or even try to speak to lloyd in person?

From everything I've heard they are a good lads down there - I dont know how much you've done to try to get your money/goods but I dont think slating them on a public forum is any way to do things. If you want to tell people in person then thats down to you but please be careful on a place like this.

Yes I have tried speaking to them but they simply DO NOT answer any of your questions and all they say is "well that depends"....even when you present them with a scenario they still dont answer your question! But yes obviously I am trying to get my money back

As far as talking about it on here, I dont see it as a public forum. Im just letting other diesel VAG owners know how the company has treated me so they can make their own minds up about using them. Why dont you try buying something off them and see how it goes? [B)]

I wasnt aware of this recent edition, just remember a certain owner of online blog of what carcarft did many years ago, and they tried to sue him based on the fact he was saying they were bad, rather than saying in his experience. Glad I didnt go Allards anyway ;)

I also remember somebody on this forum getting threatening emails that they where going to get sued from a certain tuning company because they didn`t like what he was posting about them even though everthing posted about the company was correct and could have been back up. Now who was that again ....
