Hi all,

Was rather annoyed with myself today when I managed to catch the kerb reversing the car. (I'd managed 8 flawless months) As the scuff is very small, probably about 1-2 inches, I've decided to do it myself.

I've read a lot of guides and the main issue is getting the correct colour to spray the wheel. Does anyone know how I'd manage to acquire this?

Thanks.

If you know the maker of the wheel and or do a search on the related forums you can often get the paint code that was used, certain vw,porsche and BBS wheels use the same paint code and a can of off the shelf wurth wheel silver is an exact match

If you still have no luck take your wheel to a big car accident repairer or a spray paint and sundries supplier and they will match your wheel colour and put it in a rattle can for you

Last time I needed a colour matching, went to the local spraystore and they mixed it put it in a 400 ml spray can and it cost around 14 pounds iirc

Cheers for the advice :)

It's just the Seat 18" upgraded performance alloy that you get with the Leon FR so hopefully shouldn't be too difficult to find a colour code.

For What Its Worth...

I have 18" alloys on my used 1.8 SC, the "diamond cut ones"(came with a Titanium Pack together with coloured wing mirror casings) took the nearisde ones down a kerb not long after I got it, not bad but scuffed all the same.

Everyone I contacted (& there were a lot) said they would have to be sent off for 5-7 working days to be fully refurbished (not an option for me due to work commitments). No one liked the idea of doing a smart repair on them becuase they are a nightmare to get right, their words not mine.

In the end I had a great mobile guy come to my home & after talking things through I decided to have them painted up to match the wing mirrors so in future they can be smart repaired (because it will happen again) :(

Well happy with the reults, look brand new & now know when I scuff em again I can have quick smart repair etc.:D

Hope you get yours sorted.
