I have a red 02 plate seat ibiza - am going to get alloys for it...
think i'm going to get the 17" AEZ Wave ones

Just wondering if they will scrub or slow the car down...
Was thinking about getting it lowered too but want to see what the wheels look like on first....

My FR has 17 on it as standard the tyre size is 205/40/17 and they don't scrub, your speedo might read slightly out with them on but nothing I'd worry about. I'm sure that some people have more of an idea than me but hope this helps. If you have a side photo of your car I can photoshop the wheels on it for you so you can see what they look like first.

Depends if you have a 1.2 or something a bit quicker?

it is just a 1.2 hehe! cant afford for it to be any slower than it already is lol.

il send u a pic when i get home tonite cos dont hav one on my comp at work - mite be one on my bebo but think theyr jus front pics im not sure! that wud b great

17s on a 1.2 will slow it right down, I warn you now lol, Iv been there and done that. I had 17s on for all of a day before I got sick of them on my 1.2. The jump from 14s to 16s slowed it down a bit but was a happy compromise.

Meh, your putting me off saying it'll slow the car right down...it's slow enough as it is... but then il be driving slower to be more careful anyway lol...well thats the theory..

17's fit nicely, but be prepared to cruise everywhere in a grany like precession like Guiness said, as long as you don't mind the slowness then go for it!

16's would be better for the 1.2 but 17's look better.

i hava 1.4 sx tdi and it came with 15's as standard so i wacked sum 17's on and it luks the part and they dont rub, but im loosing about 5mph off my top speed, that may sound like nothin but when ur doing 110mph it makes all the difference (not that I do speeds like that tho! : )

u cud just splash out on a cupra, i mean theyre fast + they have a lovely set of alloys as standard, after all, we only live once!

I reckon you should get the 17s as they look very nice, it will make it slow, but style is all the 1.2s have. I mean I loved my 1.2 but it was slow as f*ck, however seats have an advantage in that the 1.2 sounds and looks mint, just doesnt have the power.

yeah i'm getting the 17s as you say and i agree....but if you read my other post...about last nite...it kind of putting me off doing anything to my car!! Raging! x
