I'm thinking of booking in my altea tdi 140PD at angel tuning for a remap. After better MPG rather then power.

Anyone else had a remap before? they say roughly 10% better economy, so if thats true i will go for it.

Angel remapping do a 14 day money back policy, so i guess i could test it out.

Just wanted to see if anyone else has had a remap.

cheers

Gary

I had mine remapped by Chipped UK (who are now Viezu) and it made not a shite of difference to the economy. I went for their economy map rather than a power map, and I think it was just a waste of time.

I had our Ibiza 1.9 FR TDI done by REVO four years ago with a stage one. It's a marvel of economy or power, but not both together ;)

We definitely see more miles per gallon and power is sublime. Not much smoke either, which is nice.

Mixed reviews then. Will get it done and test it out. If I don't think it benefits me will get it reversed.

Keep the views coming though.

Cheers

Just had the remap carried out. Instantly more power and better throttle response. Seems to use less fuel when upto speed but slightly more getting there. Will see how it averages out.

Guys are angel are very nice though, had a long chat about mapping. Defo recommend them.

£195 all in. It's a deal that's been on for a while.

Not a bad price compared to some others.

Its like all things though - you get what you pay for. I'd personally Invest my money in REVO software.

I have a Revo set up on my 140 tdi,it makes very good power - 194 bhp and 410 ft lb of torque. In fact its too good,as the clutch started to slip,so its actually been off for 2 years!
I never saw any better mpg returns, but no worse either, but my car smoked a lot more! but it could have been due to the fact i run a k&n filter on it! :)

Same as above. Had mine remapped to 194bhp last year by Celtic tuning and within a month the clutch was slipping. It's still good fun, and fuel economy averages 41mpg- but can be much better or worse depening on how it's driven. The clutch is still slipping now, but I'm having it replaced in January, so hopefully that'll be the end of that.:)

Yeah that was. Cost £275 under a special offer they had on. Just checked the dynometer report and it was producing 196bhp- engine and 171bhp- wheels, with 314lbft torque.

Wouldn't want to go any higher than 196bhp as my clutch gave up after two months despite having less than 40k on the clock.

Was that from razzing it all the time?

I drive mine normally so shouldn't effect the clutch to much.

No not really. I rag it occasionally...but no I don't really drive it too hard. Good fun when you want the extra power though. Maybe the previous owner did the clutch in before me, I don't know. Replacement clutch in Jan so we'll see how that one copes.
